This is the first novel I wrote and published. It sprang from the frustration of reading too many WWII novels that just didn't hit the mark for me.
What's it about?
Sergeant Carver and his squad are some of the first US Army troops to take the offensive to the Japanese. The Marines landed on Guadalcanal first and the Army's 164th Regiment joined them later on.
Remember in the HBO mini-series, The Pacific, when Private Leckie and his buddies raid the Army depot on the beach during an air raid and Leckie takes the captain's slippers? Well, that captain was in the 164th Regiment...the object of this first book in the three book series. Enjoy!
